Hiya I'm a real newbie to all this if I'm honest. I am an outdoor girl (horsey and usually covered in mud hehe) and I love a bit of adventure. I'm trying to find ways of learning to climb etc. and it would be really fab to meet some nice folks that don't live 100 miles away that I can learn from and have fun with. I live in Hants. xxx

Hi LB. To start climbing in winter, you might do a taster session at the Guildford indoor climbing wall. Name escapes me for the moment. Then follow on with a beginners course, think that would be several sessions, and then you'd get to know others wanting to do the same thing. Just a thought if you're in the eastern part of Hants. Ah got it now Craggy Island

Hi Lizbizz, A good start would be to find a local climbing or mountaineering club, then go along and have a chat to them and get an idea about it all. Where about in Hants are you? I am in Portsmouth and belong to a Southampton club.

I'm at basingstoke. There is a climbing club that meets there but they don't teach beginners. They require you have to have a bit of experience.

Gary are you intrested in sharing traveling to walking destinations? Not sure when or where going but always good to have options?

I go up to Scotland 3-4 times a year. I'm going up on the 24 jan for the first time by train. Its costing me just under 50 quid, it saves me the problems with parking the car for a week. This summer im off to Norway for 2-3 weeks so i don't know when the next trip will be. Will keep you posted.

 |
How are you travelling around Norway?
|
 |
Im going with the wife and possible the dog so it will be car.

Gary My wife and I wanted to take our dog to Norway, and although the dog is passported it was very difficult to take to Norway. I have sent you PM with response we had back on requirements. One day my wife and I are going to get another VW camper and tour round Norway. Take lots of photos and post some on here to inspire the rest of us Alex
