Hi any feedback on the new proshell? I have seen it in a few shops and it seems a little stiff with all the tape on the inside......

The handle of the fabric depends on the face material, some of it is quite soft, some is quite stiff though it might soften with use. The actual liner has a softer feel than XCR btw, so with the same face fabric it feels softer...

I see what you mean, but the overall effect of the taping inside is stiffer even though the tape is bonded with the woven polyamide. I guess Im talkin about the drape on the wearer rather than the feel of the outer shell..Ill just have to go try one on for myself! thanks!

It should really just depend on how the garment's been constructed. Obviously if there are lots of seams, laminated panels, water-resistant zips and so on, that will create a stiffer garment overall, though no more so that previous Gore-Tex fabrics like XCR. Some brands are using thinner microtape which should actually reduce stiffness, but different jackets will vary depending on how they've been designed, so try a few

i have wet dreams about the new goretex, i wore the haglofs jacket for a day in the hills, (a jacket i am considering buying among others). its amazing, simple as. i recently converted to eVent and i must say i may be going back, its just incredible. only problem being, that it's incredibly expensive, thats the only real down side, so for now i am stiking with eVent over paklite. allthough (as they have all said) it really depends on the style of jacket.
