A great piece of kit. Its light, compact and I found it surprisingly durable. It can be a bit "noisy" but thats only a problem if your sharing an enclosed space like a bothy..great to see that the people at Blizzard have got some new sizes and designs. think I have a new one coming to me for xmas.

I see from the News page on their site that Blizzard's Reflexcell blankets are being trialled by the health and beauty industry for use in spas.  Have you noticed yourself getting lovelier lately Lance?

Part Timer,

if you aren't planning to use the bags as a regular sleeping bag option, then I would seriously consider the tubular version:

It's lighter than buying two, takes up less space than two, costs much less than two bags and should make a better emergency shelter!

Thanks Ian, they are cosmetic seconds but at that price i'm definitely going to order two of them. There for each of us to have one in our packs, I usually carry the Rab Survival Bag but would prefer to make sure the missus has one with her too. And they will also get some other uses as we tend to keep the same kit we take for walking in the boot of each of our cars for emergency use too. Will be better peace of mind in winter knowing we have one each.

Thanks Frum. Funnily enough I am currently dating a beauty therapist... I wonder if I can get her to order some as a bulk order?

Anyone know what colour the mountain depot ones are?

Was going to chuck one in the basket, but as an emergency shelter, I wouldn't want a green one to be honest...

I used to carry a green KISU Richard. I could get a bit of shelter for a brew etc without being bothered. Conversely if I had been in trouble nobody would find me either.

I've carried one of these for years but not had to use it yet. I bought a couple of the Mountain Depot seconds last week, one for a friend, and one to open and try at some point before long. They were both silver.

I wouldn't get one out just for the hell of it, you'll never manage to pack it down to the same size again - trust me. Blizzard do offer a repacking service as well though.
