After a year gap we're doing the OM Christmas walk again. Meet at the Woodbine Cafe in Hope 10.00am Saturday December 15th for a wander along the Mam Tor Ridge then back via Cavedale and Castleton. Everyone's welcome and there's even free beer for 4 lucky people Just stick your name down if you want to come.

Yep, come and have an OM cuppa and you could also win a bottle of OUTDOORSmagic beer. Ideal opportunity to escape Christmas shopping hell, which is why it's on a Saturday

There's a fair chance I'll be there, and MoS too. Shame we only did that walk (the other way round) in September... still, the Woodbine's always worth a visit

Sorry Guys, I've finally remembered what I'm supposed to be doing that weekend... getting drunk in a remote hut in Wales with a few SARDA handlers plus manic dogs. But have fun anyway it's a great walk, can I recommend walking up Cave Dale and back via Mam Tor / Hollins Cross. Cave Dale is better appreciated early in the walk, remember to look back for the views of Perevil Castle, and despite the Cement Works you then get fantastic views of the Hope and Edale valleys together with Win Hill, the Derwent Valley and beyond on the return
You're getting drunk with SARDA dogs, Judith? Bet they'll drink you all under the table!!!
You're probably right there Kate, but it should be fun anyway I seem to recall several photos of me as a very young child hiding under the table with my Golden Retriever having done something wrong, so it will be a return to my youth!!!!
You'll be glad to know that I reccied the caff yesterday in a selfless sort of cake-eating way and it's still there We can certainly walk up Cavedale for a change btw.
I can also report that the cafe is still there as the team went their for our usual Sunday lunch, I guess you must have been there later Jon, since I didn't spot you
We hid under the table when you came in
Will try to make this is the cafe dug friendly does anyone know
looks fun, will see you all there
.jpg) I will be in the area with a couple of mates. (meeting in Castleton). Might come along and bring them too if that is ok? It would be nice to put a few faces to names / names to faces etc.

I think we would have come to this but for the fact we'll be racing up the M6 heading towards Scotland to catch our ferry out to Mull for a week of solitude away from christmas madness! Damn just realised we'll also be travelling when United are at Anfield on the box, doh!! Have some yummy flapjack and creamy coffee for me!
