I am one of David Rainey's cousins. Living in Paris I soon learnt of his tragic and very unexpected death.

Curiosity in where he spent his last moments brought me to this site. My thoughts go out to his parents, wife and 4 year old daughter, and David's friends whom if reading this, my thanks to you for all your efforts.

 R.I.P. David.

My pal came quite close wandering in the pitch dark for 4 hours on her own after losing her GPS when it fell out of her hand after a slip. No torch, no compass, December on Cruach Arduain. Couldn't read her map well as rain kept obscuring her sight through her glasses. No whistle, survival bag, no-one knew she was there... and she's being walking on her own for years! You'd have thought she's have more sense. Just been lucky up to that point. For the moment, she now has a great apprerciation of the dangers.

My son attends the same school as David's daughter. It's a great shame that David's family now have to face the future without him rest in peace and may the family have the strengh to come to terms with this tragic accident.

All of Royston feels for you.
