Well what I really want to know is how well the trangia multifuel version works.  If the jets are easy to change and do they come in different sizes.  If they do it may be possible to modify this to gas as well by adding an adapter and enlarging a jet for say petrol...

I thought the Trangia multifuel was effectively an Optimus Nova burner mounted to fit the Trangia windshield - in which case it'll work brilliantly as a multifuel stove (well my Nova does ) but not be convertable to gas surely?

Edited to add: the Nova only has a single jet, it doesn't need changing to run different fuels.

Ah! Great, does the optimus nova hose conector look like the primus one ( can screw onto a gas canister) or could the optimus hose be switched for the primus one?

That sure looks like my Nova. So no, the fuel line has a sprung valve onto the pump, and the pump screws into Optimus, Primus or Sigg fuel bottles. There's no way I can see it would screw to a gas cannister. I'm not sure about swapping the fuel line completely but I doubt it.

Cheers mat! Any chance of posting a pic of the burner assembly showing  the fuel line where it bolts to the burner.  It looks identical to my primus omnifuel...

Yes but not until after the weekend - it's all packed up ready to head to N. Wales tomorrow, sorry. I'll bookmark this thread now though to remind me.

Hayden, as promised.... my Nova's fuel line (coming in from the bottom) and screwing onto the stove via the brass nut.

Does that show you what you wanted, or do you need any more shots e.g. unscrewed?

Cheers Matt!

Very much appreciate the photo!  Any chance of a direct shot of the complete burner assembly?

It looks like the burner is identical but the hose slightly different.  What I am thinking is to possibly run two stoves off the same pump.  My old omnifuel looks to have a possible second tap for another hose...

Hi guys,

This is the Trangia Multifuel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39RfXfuVj2g

Note that are two, the multifuel and the multifuel X2, which the video explains in the description.

From comparing to Matt's photos you can see that it is almost identical to the Nova, but with the addition of a bowl around the burner to let it snap down into the trangia base.

This one works really well, I'd recommend it!
