As the evenings are now drawing out somewhat maybe now’s a good time to ask:
Do we have any OM’ers out there who fancy the odd evening (or weekend) climbing at the Roaches in Staffordshire.
I live/work about 45mins away, but as my climbing guru has kindly buggered off to the Lakes for good. Am on the look out for another climbing partner(s).
Am only looking at low grade stuff at the moment (I have done some lead climbs), so anyone a t a loose end drop me a line.
Hi there mate I'm up for evening climbs or weekend climbs, I live relatively close to the roaches not climbed for a while, Due to climbing partner moved abroad! Have full rack plus more! Transport not a Problem!
I don't know if Kamikaze Badger and Cath ever met up to climb at the Roaches, but if they did as a result of this thread, it was probably 3 years ago! Cath doesn't post on here any more, though is still climbing. Kamidaze Badger is around sometimes though.
Yep every now and again Kate - have migrated more to UKC. Hill walking is good but it's too much like hard work (says he planning a return trip to Skye next May followed by the Welsh 3000's next June, lol).
Didn't end up meeting with Cath, however have been climbing with Phil Newing of a Tuesday evening for the last couple of years (weather permitting in the better months). We were over at the Roaches last night in fact. We try to vary it around Roaches/Stanage/Windgather/Castle Naze.
Might just have to drop you a line Ben. As it would be good to find someone who lives close (I'm 25/30 mins away over in Forsbrook, Stoke on Trent). Have transport, full rack etc...
