Trevor, where did you get the idea the Woodcraft Folk have anuything particular to do with paganism? - Wrote Peter.
I studied a lot of the so called modern Pagan religious disciplines a few years back ago from Wicca to witchcraft/Earth Magic etc. Many of those folks do belive that the Woodcraft Folk organisation has a very good grounding in Pagan ideals beliefs. They have featured in the literature of the Pagan Federation too in particular to that end; and I was for a short time a member of the local PF chapter during my 'seeking' time period. Get hold of a Woodcraft Folk manual to see what I mean, in the verses that some groups like to even today 'speak out' around the campfire. Very very 'Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again' type stuff really.Completely harmless of course, and I was not at all suggesting it was verging upon Paganism of the older kind of the evils of black witchcraft nor satanic type things! More of the 'green' pagan traditions very much of the modern world times; sharing some noticable facets of the kind of basic beliefs systems embraced now by many Wiccans and Earth loving pagan groups today. I own some good books published by The Woodcraft Folk themselves - they are reprints of older published books - and some of the stuff in there would surprise you indeed! As I said before though, not all local WF groups stick to the older somewhat more ritualised ways of doing things, but some still apparently do so!
