Good book for those looking to move on to harder scrambles and full on climbing. I learned a lot from it, highly recommended.

Neither are terse comments two years past their sell-by date...

'Advanced mountaineers' tend to have started as 'not-so advanced mountaineers', and have learnt how do become 'advanced mountaineers' by actually doing it. The phrase 'learning the ropes' (whilst taken from an entirely different activity), is applicable here.

I'd hate to think that someone who wanted to be an 'advanced mountaineer' would read a book on 'advanced mountaineering', and then go and try 'advanced mountaineering'...
