So is anyone else on for some nekkid climbing next weekend? I was thinking the popular end at Stanage for mamumum exposure, seeing as it's about to take Britiain by storm, I guess we won't really stand out

So do naked climbers still wear harnesses, or just tie on through a nipple-ring?

Was that a Freudian slip Jon?

I haven't read that Torygraph article but I thougth this calendar had been around for ages?  I was out with my local climbing club last night and we decided to do a calender.  There may, however, have been some slight confusion about exactly which of us is going to be actually risking midgies, grit rash and ever-lasting shame by actually being in it.  The general consensus seemed to be 'all of you lot but not me'.

Stone Nudes has been going since 2000, I think.  It's even featured a couple of UKC regulars.  See UKC thread. (You might have to be registered: I can't remember...)

Nude climbing is so last year, dahling.  Do try to keep up...

Stanage edge sounds good. I have only climbed there once and there were naked climbers then. Or at least one naked female climber. Student I think for charity. Needless to say she got lots of money from us and those in our group with partners got a "good talking too" later on. Funny sight of someone hanging off a climb mid way up with both arms fully outstretched, not to make the next hold but to lean back enough to get a good look!! That earnt him a few harsh words.

My memory isn't too good, but... I'm sure there was a photo pinned behind the bar yonks ago, in either the Kingie or the Clachaig, (Glencoe) of one of the regulars climbing an icefall wearing only boots, crampons and ice-axes. The result of a drunken bet......

Late '70's, early '80's.

Wide angle shot I hope, unless it was very cold.

Yep, Stone Nudes is, ahem, old newds. There are a few old OM articles linked off the bottom of the one at the top of the thread.

I love the idea that anyone at a national newspaper genuinely might think that nude climbing is the next big thing to hit the UK. I mean, have they ever been outside their office? Absolute class if you ask me.

I meant the wide angle so you had a small figure against a much larger background for his privacy.

Indeed.  Never mind the embarrassment; think of the chaffing, bruising, cold, midgies etc. etc.

I'm amazed no ones thought of the poor undercover police squad who will have to go in to police it all! I mean, just where will they hang their handcuffs from for instance?
