on a serious note, it's all down to Gore!   the laces have to be treated in something that i can't remember at the moment to make them more water repelant, this is stipulated by gtx and can cause those nice lace tips not to stick so well thus come off and give you frayed ends

Cor! the thread is back on track, Does that apply to all bootlaces, even on boots that dont have a GTX liner?

it depends on the sorcing of the boot manufacturer, i expect it's cheeper to buy all laces treated than two different specs

That's the lace mites let off all charges with just a stern warning then! I just somehow knew that we would never make the charges stick against them in court there!
