At last, a sensible size (I think) pack for that is light when stripped from Osprey in a couple of good colour schemes, that means i won't have to suffer the indignity of the Talon 33 in either the blue or orange and i won't have to buy two packs, another make in a sensible colour now ready for snowdon trip and more. And then the Talon in the dark grey that has been mentioned for launch in the Spring.

Jon, do you know the dimensions of the back length for the various litre sizes?

Got one here now, more details next week, but looks like a very well thought out pack on first acquaintance.

Jon, in your opinion is this a suitable pack, size wise for a couple of days hiking/camping/scrambling? in other words will i get everything in it that i need? My snowdon trip is coming up soon if you recal, and as it is my first time i don't have anything suitable at the moment and this peaked my interest.

How long is a piece of string? It all depends on your kit, in particular the pack size of your sleeping bag and shelter, what you're carrying in terms of scrambling hardware - rope? helmet? - etc. It's intended as a technical climbing / mountain pack, but if your kit is compact enough to fit in a 38-litre pack it will fit in pretty much any 38-40 litre pack. The lid is floating, which does give you scope for some overloading though.

I noticed that despite the pack appearing bottomless - he didn't have a huge pastie stuffed in there to eat .

No, they've just missed out the space between 'lite' and 'rage'. Lite rage is what you're feeling about mutilation of the English language!

How does it compare with the OMM Jirishanca ?

The back pad looks pretty similar in style to a late 80's karrimor Alpiniste.
