Hi, anyone travelling or staying in this area should really try the Waterside cafe at Lochcarron for cheap good food in really clean suroundings. Twice this year I have had the all day breakfast here. The first time in March I had the 'Challenge' breakfast .....wow what a stuggle to finish it & all for £7.50. Last week July 22nd I had the 'Mega' along with two friends & a fourth had the 'Challenge' and could not manage it !!. With 2 coffees & 2 teas & slice of chocolate cake............ the bill.... £31. Great value, great place and overlooking Lochcarron...... There are many other choices on the menus..... I will be using this place again !!! Bob Chubb

typical rip off prices from scotland. The owner is that fat it would put me off my food. Must be english to think thats cheap.

EH!!??? If you read the post again and realise how many and what they had? Great place btw, we stopped there once to get butties and they were fantastic, sat in the car outside watching over the Loch, watching grey seels on the rocks in the middle of the loch and a bearded fisherman called Angus hanging his washing on the beach washing lines. Fantastic. The lady who served us looked distrubingly like Roy Keane though!

Hmmm...what a strange first post jimbo Sounds a bit personal - want to tell us more?

ROFL A wonderful riposte Kate, stick around, you'll fit right in here...

She can sock Jamie next time he goes in there too, for his 'Roy Keane' comment

Call me a bitter old cynic, but - first (and only) post from Jimbo in an aggressive style, but which in fact underscores the value of the cafe. first post response from cafe owner bumping the thread (or is it an advertisement?) at an opportune time of year. I don't know the area, but a quick Google tells me Kate Ellis has at least one holiday apartment to rent there. Hmmm ... do I smell spam?

I and my husband went here in April and it was lovely. The cafe is in a beautiful location with great views! It was Great value for money and very good food! There was a large menu available and the staff where more than happy to meet my fussy needs. I am gluten free and was delighted to know they even had a range of yummy cakes i could have! Personally i think what the staff look like is not important as long as the food and service is a good standard which i can ensure you all that it is. The people above blatantly haven’t heard of the saying "if you've not got anything nice to say then don't say it at all?" Will defiantly be returning again!

Will defiantly be returning again! Bit worried that you feel you have to do it defiantly, Ruby. Caffs as protest venues? Nah, maybe not.

Stayed in lochcarron last year at Kate's waterside cafe apartment above the cafe. The apartment had everything you need clean and tidy. We took our 3 pooches with us and had a lovely time. The food downstairs in the cafe was absolutely bang on.
Jimbo tuffnell what a nasty piece of work you are. Kate and Jeff who run the cafe and apartment are lovely people who work really hard all year round. Making personal comments like that is just out of order have a good look in the mirror you sad twat. Kate get 2 knuckle sandwiches cos I will help you smack jimbo sad bastard tuffnell. Ha ha lol xx

...so it's the traditional warm Scottish welcome .
Seriously, it looks like a great cafe in a fantastic location. Is the Challenge breakfast associated with the TGO Challenge and do you still get a certificate if you don't like mushrooms?
