Starting out?

I am looking for a quiet campsite in Lancashire to introduce my teenage daughter to the joys of camping. Unfortunately after much googling, I have still not found what I am looking for. I thought my idea of a good campsite would be widespread, but it seems not. My criteria are:

Definitely no caravans.

Preferably within 50 miles of Wigan.

Somewhere that is not classed as a family site, i.e children running into ones tent all day, and babies that scream in the night.

Clutching at straws now, but somewhere that doesn't actively welcome dogs.

Not much to ask for but impossible to find.

Any recommendations?

Been many moons since I stayed there, but from the reviews not much seems to have changed.

PC, Ingleton and Kettlewell are in Yorkshire if you please..

PL have you heard of Hollingworth Lake. there is a quiet site at the top end of there, plus you could wild camp around there.

There must be some in the Forest of Bowland, surely??

It's a shame you have to come all the way into Yorkshire to find a decent campsite...

If BBC reporting is true then finding a campsite with space will be an achievement let alone a quiet campsite!
