For more information about this policy please copy this link into a new browser window:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-previously-suspended.html
Please be advised that this suspension does not relieve you of your obligation to pay any fees that you may owe to eBay.
Here's what you can do now:
Please write to us from the registered email address for the suspended account listed above to appeal the original suspension.
If you don't have access to the registered email address for the suspended account, let us know by replying to this message.
Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.
Regards,
eBay Trust & Safety As you can imagine I'm not a happy bunny, as it's all bovine scatology. Anyone else had similar and how do you resolve it, as I've emailed them and they stand by their decision.

Are you sure it is from ebay? Have you typed the ebay address into a new browser window rather than clicking a link in the email they "sent", or clicking reply to the email. IE is the email it's-self the scam/spoof or is your account really suspended? Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs ;~))

Yes my account is suspended. I never click on any link claiming to be from ebay, I always log in and check these things seperately. They have told me that they cannot tell me why I have been suspended in any detail as this may help identify how I was reported. Can I request my details under the data protection act?

Tell them that you believe yourself to have been the victim of a fraud & you want the police to investigate. Ask for detals so that you can pass them on to the police. Say that you'd prefer not to have to get a court order ...

My eBay account was recently hacked (see thread I started on here: 'eBay account hacked') When I changed all my account details back to what they should have been, my account was suspended due to 'suspicious activity'. All it took was one email to eBay explaining the issue and my account was reinstated instantly. I find it odd that they have told you the name of another suspended account...

Have you searched ebay to find this persons ebay account. I have and this person joined on 10 May 2008 in the United States and their account is not frozen so I wonder what they are doing. I think you definately have some comeback on ebay to explain more.

Re. the Data Protection Act, you can make a Subject Access Request for copies of any personal data about you that eBay hold. They can charge you up to £10 for this, and they are allowed to take 40 days (calendar days) to respond. But, they are entitled to (and should) take any third party information out before sending stuff to you, so it's unlikely you'll find out the source of the problem via the DPA route.

Many thanks, I didn't even know you could search for someone on ebay.

That's my next step although the buggers aren't even replying. Cheers. Re. the Data Protection Act, you can make a Subject Access Request for copies of any personal data about you that eBay hold. A twelve month suspension means you've been associated with someone has been committing pretty serious offences. quarles_882c is no longer a registered user - although it was a US registration which is odd, because Ebay will associate users via personal details (address, bank account, credit card) or via pc (IP address, cookies). I suppose theres nothing to stop a US fraudster entering a UK address in one of the four addresses Ebay allows. Also if your account has been hacked it could have been associated by them logging in as you at the same pc. The only other way I can think of your account being associated is if you;ve been bidding on this guys auctions in a pattern that could be identified as shill bidding. Anyway I'd ask here
