And if it's anything as fire prone as the Myo range it'll probably blow up taking small towns with it...

Worth mentioning perhaps that the Belt version will no longer come with a larger battery, as the company that was supposed to supply the batteries has gone bust. Apparently it will have the same battery as the head version, but at the originally announced price!

Honestly, just what is the point of this bit of kit?  Even a total kit tart like me couldn't justify one of these to myself (and God knows, I'm good at that).

Petzl does appear to be a singularly unimaginative company.  Its only 'strategy' seems to be to build ever larger, brighter lamps that chew up more and more power.  As the review says, why not develop a bicycle mount to open up a new market?

I now own 4 Petzl headlamps; an old, bulky Myo (no longer used), a Myo XP that goes on Winter day walks, a Tikka Plus for backpacking and an E-lite that lives in the Winter / wilderness survival bag.

Don't get me wrong; they're good, if pricey, products but how good can a headtorch get, ultimately?  Who on earth needs a headlight so bright that it could have been used by a Luftwaffe anti-aircraft battery?
