Yes, but surely Jon was jesting when he said "Women's version below and looking rather nice, we thought... How come gurlz always get the best colours eh?" in reference to this?!!
The Microtherm is back!!! I've been nurturing mine (version 1), protecting and loving it because it was irreplaceable. No zip-off sleeves this time though?
"Last but not least, the rather nice slimmer-cut Tupilak jacket we had issues with last year has been revised. We found a tight cut around the chest made the pit-zips effectively unuseable, but for 2009, the fit's been revised and ME says it's no longer an issue. We'll let you know once we've tried one."
I tried on a new Tupilak today, the chest did have a very slightly tight feel but didn't impair any upper body movement, and the pit zips seemed to work just as well as any I've used on other jackets. The close cut really is nice, the sleeves in particular are a lot better with far less excess material on the upper arm. I'm buying one tomorrow
tried the new touchstone on monday, thought of buyig it until i put on the hood. it appeared loose with nothing to tighten it. it would fly off in a little wind. thoght of wearing an "ear-gear" by tnf over the hood to stop it blowing down. any observations?
We carry the Touchstone at work, I'm a little torn on it to be honest. On the one hand, it looks nice, and has a seperate collar and hood. On the other it's bulky and heavy compared to most fleeces, and expensive to boot. Before you even consider the hood problem you mentioned, which I wasn't aware of. Most users could probably do better buying either a softshell, or a bog-standard fleece and a hat to go with it, depending on intended use.
