I'm busy pulling together some sessions for my Scout Troop on the hazzards of Mountain Weather. Does any have or has seen any pictures I can download & print which show how quickly weather changes on the hills/mountains? I thought I had some that showed Skiddaw bathed in sunshine when we started a climb but gradually as the clag rolled in visibility became almost zero by the top. Unfortunately I've lost the pictures.

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers
Al.

If it'd be what you're after I'll try to find some I took on Ben Macdui a couple of years ago - the top of the hill is bathed in sunlight but there's a big angry black cloud / squall visible going down the adjacent glen.

Don't hold your breath, they'll be somewhere in a huge box of 6x4s and I'll have to scan them so quality might not be great. Also, my santa look-alike dad is asleep by the cairn so it might warp fragile little minds.

Alan drop me a line with your email address I have a couple of pics you might like. WHat sort of resolution do you want? I have Broadband so I can send them at max, but it'd tie up your connection for ages if you haven't got it yourself.

If you see what I mean.

Sort of.

Anyway, let me know.

Alan, I also have some pictures you may be interested in - sunshine in the glens and a white out further up sort of thing.

Mail me with you email address and I'll send them to you.

I have a series of pics of clouds rolling onto the summit of Everest as we basically ran up Kalar Pattar, trying to get to the top while there was still a view of the mountain to see, but they're all on transparency and never got that bad anyway.

Sorry Al,

Dug out the photos and the weather in question never made it onto film - just in my memory.
