Parky Again wrote (see)

all testing should of course be made sitting in a fridge fitted with a water spray to simulate typical scottish conditions.

being called norman would, of course, confer a skewed result. unless norman is a fluent german speaker.

Pay attention at the back Parky! I stated those conditions in my post. 100 lines for you boy.

I forgot about the German angle though. What if the test evaluator was German? I think that would suffice.

Surely a German wouldn't care how many litres a cannister would boil? He'd simply choose which country to invade to secure further cannister supplies......

At least the trains delivering the gas cannisters would be on time.

matt! how could you. they would be merely be excessively distraught as they would have to formulate a wurst boiling chart. mmm. but if they failed your option sounds the most likely.

Gas consumption. Indoors I work on 5grms per mug of boiled water, its not far out when deciding wether a second cylinder could be needed.

From experiences of two of us backpacking over a series of years.

We use an MSR windpro, wind shield, foil base, and pair of titanium pans.

We dont over skimp, but are careful. use a pot cosy when cooking etc.

A 230 gm Colemen cart lasts us from  Saturday evening meal through to Wenesday part way into evening meal.

typical breakfast 2 x coffee, porridge. , into camp brew, soup, dinner, drink per day for the two of us.

Second cart then easily and less carefully lasts through till next weekend and some left.

Hope this is of use
