Autumn. A bright day, with crisp, fresh air, and the sun still strong enough to warm you. Wrapped up warm in lovely kit...
oops. I spoilt it, didn't I?

Nooo nothing wrong with lovely kit....

I'm thinking of getting me one of those theological qualifications you were sporting recently. It'd have to be the Church of Kit, God of Outdoor Equipment. Haven't decided on a title yet, though. I'm too busy working on the theological attire... Acoyltes (female only, of course, known as 'Kitfondlers') will have to wear black, one-piece PowerStretch catsuits, with a knotted sling at the waist, weighted with no 5 Hex.

One-piece cat-suits died a death in the sixties and with good reason. Designed by men without a thought about the practicalities! It's bad enough trying to pee in dungarees.......

Any day any season as long as I can see more than 3 foot in fornt of me. Seriously though I love spring time becasue of the renewal of things. I suppose the great thing about British weather is that it is so variable not just between but also within the seasons. Who would want a boring Mediteranean summer with no excitment as to whether it will rain or not?
Err come to think of it!!!!!

 Anytime...
Spring - the bounty and the promise of the summer to come.
Summer - long lazy days with the glourious lying in the sun doing nothing.
Autumn - the colours.
Winter - clear crisp days with views that go on forever.
Sorry I can't make up my mind! I'll still go for all of them!

Winter...snow...and wintery type things. Proper Bo. Autumn is good too, and spring. Not really a fan of summer though - too hot, hay fever, etc. I always find it amusing the way that so many people worship the sun in summer, as though it's some kind of deity. Makes me chortle.
I've never seen the attraction of cooking oneself, either - whether it be in the sun, or artificially - especially artificially...what's the point of bombarding yourself with intense UV rays?!?
All hail the big fiery ball in the sky...

Going back a few threads, yeah of course any type of day is better than a day at the office. I'd agree there!
But lets just hope we get some decent snow days this winter, and that it falls on a weekend too.
|
 |
 Amen to that.
|
 |
If I could have only one season, it'd have to be winter, winter in the Andes for preference, given that it never seems to snow here any more.
Autumn's nice too though. And the purple heather in the peak this summer was pretty good as well.

Not being "picky" here Jon, but we really only need snow to fall above say 1500 feet(ish)so that the mountains we visit are covered and not the road systems.
The problem with generalised snow is that unlike some countries, our road systems grind to a halt with the merest "dusting" and then we can't get to the places.
We had enough on the beacons last winter to keep me happy though!!!

Last winter I went out in the snow and, on the following Monday, was telling a colleague about how great it'd been. He's not the outdoor type and said I must be mad. I said there's no point having cold weather gear if you don't use it.
At this point unbeknownst to me another colleague, who'd been earwigging, went to the MD and complained vehemently that it wasn't fair that I'd got a car with a special cold weather gear and he hadn't.
Well it was bloody funny at the time, I tell you.

 That's typical eh??
Last winter I struggled to work through the snow to take charge of the Ambulance control to find that not only did I have staff in Control who couldn't get to work, but I had a similar shortage of Ambulance crews and those vehicles that could get out obviously had extreme difficulty in attending the extorionate numbers of calls that we get on such occations. There is obviously an increase in the numbers of RTCs on such days, (new name for RTAs - Collisions rather than Accidents - since the latter term implies no blame!!) but one of the most common of calls in snow is chest pains from people shovelling the stuff!
Anyway I spent the morning attempting to remain polite to some MORONIC people who failed to appreciate that it was not only THEM who could not get through the chaos and who felt better by having a go at someone, indispersed with attempting to support what little staff I had avalable to me.
We finished a 1330 and I was absolutlely SHATTERED. On the perilous drive home I looked at those snow capped peaks behing where I live and I was determined to take the dogs up there and "disappear" not mater what.
I did just that, and once I had reached the esgair (ridge) I noticed that the ONLY footsteps ahead of me were from my dogs.
What a feeling! It was sheer bliss I had one of the most relaxed nights sleep after that walk for ages!!!!

all year rounds if its not raining!
|
 |
All over snow is fine with me. I can always go walking straight out of the front door. Not so good for climbing in Scotland though.
|
 |
 Scotland in September,no midges!
|
 |
Any time of year, so long as you're not up to your knees in mud.
|
 |
 Grrrrr Midges!!!!
Those pesky critters.....
