The classic circuit of Kinder, right around the edge, starting from Edale, but we didn't reckon with the magentic pull of the Old Nag's Head... With pics.

I hate soft rock.

For example, Europe's "The final countdown" OR The Scorpion's "The Winds of Change" - yuk.

Nasty music. Just nasty.

I hate middle of the road rock, always covered in tyre marks and scratches. It's crap. Gimme lemmings any time. Or otters.

Ohhhh "The ace of spades, the ace of spades!!!"

Din't think too much of Lemmy either. It was that mole on the side of his face. Or was it an otter?

I agree completely... bad technique.

I, of course, am completely unscathed ;-)

I once watched a climber walk the length of Stanage with ripped stripey tights and skinned knees. After enduring about a dozen "tut-tut with tights as bad as those you'd think he would be able to climb without using his knees" he turned round and bellowed "THE LOT OF YOU CAN **** OFF, I FELL OVER - OK!". Obviously two sore points...

Gritstone only cuts you to ribbons for the first two years, in the third year you start to develop the "Sheffield Plate", a thick crust of scabby grey skin covering anything that regularly contacts the rock (in my case hands, feet, elbows, face and backside...).

Im cut again this morning after encounters with welsh seacliffs!

I al;ways find it amazing how climbers can balence on tiny little edges but then can stand up on flat ground!!!

Soz mate. It'll NEVER leave. It'll haunt you till you die.

Unless I mention The Birdy Song.

Der Vogeltanz is a charming Austrian volk song. Then, round about 1981 IIRC, some idiot put some English rubbish ('words' would be too flattering) to it and released it for the Benidorm masses.

Destruction of said charming little tune.

Si - you should know that ALL modern plop music started as Austrian folk songs.
