I've been looking for a 2-man tent for hiking at a reasonable price that isn't too heavy and will fit well enough in a backpack. I looked around for about an hour and came across the Terra Nova Wild Country Duolite. It's really cheap at around £100 and seems really good.
But at about £100 it must have something bad about it? it can't be as good as the £300 tents, which it seems to be. I've looked around a lot, and can't find a single bad review. Everything is positive except for one person who said that the poles were a little tricky to put away. does anyone have any suggestions as to why it's so cheap?
£100 is a very good price for that tent. It's doesn't use the same ulta modern materials as the really expensive tents, and so is a bit heavier than many, but it still looks very capable, especially for that amount of money.
Just bought one, great tent, pitches super quick and no problems packing/handling poles. I intend to use it for sea kayaking so weight not so important. wanted a simple fly first pitcher and price was amazing. Reckon its a tight two man but arent they all. I would go for it and spend the diff on other camping toys. Have only pitched it in the garden so far but very pleased with it. Easily lives up to dearer cousins.
how much did you pay for it, and where from? I've read other forum chats on it and they all suggest that you can get them at £100, but I've had a look around online and it seems to cost at least £150 now. it seems steve was right
from terra's site, 100 quid in the clearance zone. Was an ex demo 'grade b' but in immaculate condition, very impressed with terras service. Reckon its great value at 150 considering many two man's are almost double that. Porch isnt huge but probably average for category and certainly big enough to cook in out the elements. Groundsheet could be a wee bit thin too but this appears to be the case on most modern tents. Overall still a keeper at 150.
Simong on here had one at the meet, seemed a decent bit of kit. Porch was good enough to cook in and it looked like it would hold up to a beating or two. I know he paid a hundred notes for his.
Mines actually a Trisar (but you wouldnt notice after a few beers!) very pleased with it so far, you also benefit from the fab Terra Nova customer service, I emailed them after having had a problem with a pole section and recieved a couple of replacements within 48hrs
