Bless you there Bob, yes they are often on offer price in that store every few weeks it seems to be happily! And a warm welcome to OM for you from me!

Heh. I know it sounds ridiculous, but he's right. You don't want the glue from the label in your rice (or whatever) so you need the LWWF packet in a seperate bag, and then you've got the problem that the air in the seperate bag is an insulator so adding water allows the heat to transfer more effectively. Or we could all just shout at LWWF until they remove the paper labels!
FFS ! Why not just pour the contents into the second bag then heat. It's not rocket science...unless we're talking pocket rocket of course. Personally, I just cook my rice or whatever, add my meal and gently heat through. I carry a mytimug to heat water for my tea/coffee.

or even more revolutonary and tip the contents into a pan.

Where's the fun in that Parky; honestly!

or even more revolutonary and tip the contents into a pan. Er... praps I didn't make it clear but actually, that's what I meant when I said, " Personally, I just cook my rice or whatever, add my meal and gently heat through." I promise I'll try harder to express myself more clearly next time Parky.

No Colm, I understood perfectly what you said. "What's Parky on about this time" I thought, but was too polite to say.

This is an equal opportunity forum Frum so nuff said.

"Why not just pour the contents into the second bag then heat" why not just pour the contents into a pan. and i'm allowed to lose the plot...

OK! I'll rephrase the whole thing for the sake of clarity and to indulge Parky and the deliberately obtuse. FFS ! If you really have to boil in the bag why not just pour the contents into the second bag then heat. It's not rocket science...unless we're talking pocket rocket of course. Personally, I think that's unnecessarily complicated, you could try what I do. I just cook my rice or whatever in the pan, add my meal and gently heat through. I carry a mytimug to heat water for my tea/coffee. Sorry for assuming the inferences would be clear, Parky. And I'm allowed to be grumpy.

Nooo, we can all be grumpy here, as long as we try not to mention things a mite too controversial! Whoops, I seem to have difficulty myself with that last bit!
Dunno how soon Darren is going to this factory, but it is sometime this very week apparently, so if you want that paper label on the bag gone, or anything else for that matter changes-wise in these meals then go to Whitespider right now through the link I put in above and let them know your opinion through Darren ok!

Right then ..... I went out bought a pack of Pork Meatball(s) and Butterbeans. I soaked the bag in warm water and, although the paper label came off, there was a considerable amount of gum left behind. It took me about 10 mins with a knife to scrape it all off gently. The pack was then duly transported to the Brecon Beacons National Park for testing. It survived the trek from the Storey Arms car park to Llyn Cwm Llwch (via Corn Du) without any incident (no leaking etc). It was then placed in a pan of cold water and bought to the boil with a Coleman F1 Lite gas stove which took about 3 mins. After another 2 or 3 mins I took it out of the pot and used the remaining hot water to make a brew. My Conclusion - Even though the sauce and butterbeans were nice and hot, the meatball (and there was only one) was still cold in the middle. So next time it''ll be cooked for a bit longer. I also suffered no ill effects from eating the cold meatball. Also, the water used to make the brew was not tainted in any way by colour or flavour. I never knew Gastronomy could be such fun !!!

Look Colm, that is ridiculous - I mean, it's just too simple! How long have you been on this forum FFS!?
