that Lizard Top looks like THE business. A wind-resistant, breathable non-membrane pullover is something it's so easy to never take off, particularly if you're a hot sweaty bastard like me. Why is it the girls get all the cool purply colours? Hope they've got some bright ones for the guys.

The shorts do to, come to that. And 780 grammes for a PAIR of 42 boots. INSANE. And with such a high ankle cuff, as well. The weight could have been even less if they'd cut that down by an inch.

Stretch Pro Shell? Awesome stuff. Pity I can't afford it. Ah well, the Spitz is a beauty anyway. Extraordinary stuff from Haglofs, the whole damn range looks excellent for next year.

Their time is now.

I'll be surprised if the 780g isn't per boot.

which would actually make it fairly heavy, my fabric Asolos weigh a lot less than that.

The shorts look good - not exactly groundbreaking, since Mountain Hardwear produced something similar, the Fusion Stretch Shorts, which are excellent but were unfortunately discontinued about 3 years ago....  so nice to get an alternative available again soon

Jon reports that those boots are 45% lighter than previous models, so perhaps the 780g per pair is right.

Perhaps. But that weight makes it the same as a pair of Inov8 Roclite 390 Gtx boots, and yet it looks a whole load more substantial.

Maybe it's got an Aero-like structure?

Indeed, Mike.  A full cut boot weighing the same as the lightweight mid-cut Inov8 Roclite?  OM staff seem to have a problem with numbers:

The lizard top does look potentially very nice - a few folk do actually seem to do something like this but (I belive) the only thing like it that we've seen over here is Montane's dynamo.

Me, I want a sub 200g equilbrium light stretch pullover

Wonder if the price for the titan is an indicator of the rumoured major price increase coming? If you factor in say 20% across the board then it starts to look slightly more affordable....

And TNF Apex shorts have been around for ages... but I'd rather have the Haglofs...

It is 780g per boot. I'll let you know what they're like in use soon...

The new season kit is great (I saw it here), but the price rises will cause a few eyebrows to lift and brows to furrow. It's across the board though, all the manufacturers are doing it, and if they haven't they've cur corners on their kit.

As I've said before, what should the Chinese factory workers have a poorer quality of life so we can have a bargain?

I wonder at what price point it starts making sense to move production back to Europe?!?

oh... and ptc*,

what were those running singlets in on rail like? I've been trying to get something decent in the 'wife beater' cut (sorry - I know no other phrase for this cut-off tshirt style-) as it works better for running with a pack than my usual stock of singlets.

John

John, the fabric and the cut are all different to the current stuff. The new fabric is much nicer against the skin, but vest armholes and straps (?) always seem to be body shape dependant, so it's hard to say, but the seams are all quite low profile.
The new designer is a runner/racer so I'd hope they'll be pretty good for proper use..

Sounds good. I've got "made for management" sloping shoulders and often have problems with pack straps. Generally I use a Subzero Factor1 shortsleeve for running with a pack as it copes fantastically with moisture there are no seams in the body and the shoulder seams are flat enough to be fine under a pack. But F1 is quite warm stuff and isn't the best option for the hotter weather (such as I find myself in quite regularly living in the South of France!).  For general hot weather running, I use New Balance loose fit singlets as they are a nice relaxed cut and let the air circulate... but they're crap under pack straps as the shoulder fabric doesn't line up with any rucksacks I own! Hope I can find one of the Haglofs ones when they come out...

Looks like RAB have been listening Martin .. see here.

And those event smocks will give the LIM stuff a run for their money too .. especially as the predicted price hike doesn't seem to have hit them. Less material, seams and features should, after all cost less too! Must be the umlaut that's expensive
