Does anybody have any recommendations for a good campsite in the Ivybridge area?

Showers, toilets and reasonable rates would be great!

Not so many Campsites in that area as far as I know

There is one at Wrangaton, but it's more for caravans I think.

There is this at Diptford

but I don't know if they have showers or not - it's a nice village- quiet but no pub and 5 miles from the moor...

Or go more towards Buckfastleigh one way this one looks nice when I drive by it or some towards Modbury the other direction...

There is farm camping at Holne village - pub there and Scorriton 1 mile away, very near the moor.

Same as Mole I'm afraid- not seen many around Ivybridge- but can recommend http://www.harfordbridge.co.uk/which is outside Tavistock- Mary Tavy- very close to the Moor and rather civilised.

Otherwise more basic sites such as:

http://www.runnagecampingbarns.co.uk/ which is close to Postbridge and Cockingford Farm Campsite which is close to Widecombe-in-the-Moor..

Cheers

BH

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies!

Just to wrap the thread up, and to aid anybody else if they are searching for this subject in future:

Stayed at the Beara Farm site in Buckfastleigh. It was like a cheaper, nicer, better equipped version of the Vaynol campsite. Andalot of Netherlanders!

I phoned up the Harford Bridge one... for a 'basic' pitch, for two tents, for one night: £31.82!!!!

Nice one - how much was Beara Farm then?

Harford bridge are having a laugh surely - we had 4 days in cornwall at a great site - 22.50 a night for 5 of us, - 2 cars, 2 tents - one 2 man + one 6 man

Harford Bridge is a very nice campsite but I've always found it to be pricey.

They charge you a fortune for a small stretch of not-very-good trout fishing in the Tavy that runs by the site.

Beara Farm was £4.50 per person, per night. Shower was £0.50 for nine minutes of hot water.

Do people really pay the Harford Bridge prices? I audibly gasped when the woman on the end of the phone told me the price...
