I am off to Pembrokeshire for the first time during the first week of September. I am after campsite recommendations. I will be going with my wife and dog. My wife would like some decent showers and my dog would like some nice beaches!
I would be happy with a campsite with a decent view on the cost!
I was in Pembrokeshire a few weeks ago. I started out from Newport and can highly recommend it. It's a very pleasant coastal town and reminded me of Cornwall before all the cockneys moved in.
There are several campsites near the town and they all seemed to have beautiful views of the sea. I forget the name of the one that I stayed at for one night - Clover Farm or something. If you stay in Newport, you have great walking on the coastal footpath around Dinas Island and a nice walk straight out of the town up to Carn Ingli.
Try Conifers in Newport, Pembs. Great view over Newport Bay and dogs are allowed onthe beach and there are buses from Newport to Moylegrove from where you can walk back along the coastal path.
Has toilet and shower block and it's only a short walk into the village to get food or sample the best restaurant west of Cardiff! (Y Mochyn Drwg)
