Anyone got any ideas for a cheap couple of days where I could go with 2 families. Myself and friend would like to do some good walks, while the good ladies and kids have something to do in the days. Trying to keep the budget down would be nice too.
There would be 4 kids in total, ages now are 9, 6, 4 and 6 months. Maybe something next spring/summer would be easier as the youngest would be 1 in April.
Can you combine a short family trip with the kids and still do some good walks or should the 2 be kept seperate?
Thanks Mick, but I was thinking more along the lines of something in Europe with some good quality mountains but something for the family to do in the day.
Slovakia? Poprad has Aquacity, sheer joy for adults and children alike, and yet you're still only a short train ride away from the High Tatras (chairlifts for children and for when you can't be arsed to walk). Oh and it's cheap, very.
Or our absolute favourite: Bol, on the island of Brac in Croatia, where we're off to in a week in fact
The town is overlooked by the mountain of Vidova Gora, and there's plenty to keeps kids occupied - banana boats, kayaking etc etc, the beauty of Zlatni Rat.

You can fly to Split with Easyjet or Croatia Airlines, and then get a ferry to the island.
Don,t ignore the costa Brava, fantastic coast walks north of Roses were the Pyrennes meet the med and close to the sierre de cadi and other pyrennes lumps.Just returned from 3 weeks out there and had a great time.
Have a look at Andalucia in the South of Spain as well for next spring. The weather will be hot enough for days on the beach and swimming pool etc, but the mountains in the Sierra Nevada nearby, will have snow on.
As it's spring the prices will be more pocket friendly than summer. The Easter celebrations in this area are also quite spectacular... and slightly amusing in the right company.
