Is anyone else a huge fan of Haystacks? I ascended it on Sunday from Gatesgarth and it was just the most amazing walk i have ever been on! amazing! what an extraordinary little fell. We even passed mr AW who lies in Innominate tarn. What a man he was! Overall a great day

I am now.

My 7 year old and I walked up the same route in early October. She read Wainwrights guide for the route whilst we ate lunch at Innomminate tarn.

Haystacks is a lovely little fell - I prefer to ascend from the lakeside and descend via Warnscale bottom. Even though I've done that walk dozens of times, there's always some new delight.
