One of the great things about buffs was the lack of seams. Saw one of these 3 or 4 months ago and the great big seam down the middle really let it down. I'll stick with my old school buff thank you.

Yes, the original Buff really strikes me as a product that needs no tinkering with, variation or 'improvement'. (except possibly some of the patterns!! )

I have a friend who is knitting me a seamless one ... I'll be 102 by the time she finishes it!

In merino by hand? Now that is a scary thought. Really thin thread on that stuff Unsurprisingly perhaps various of the specalist merino folk have been doing this for a little while, Chocolate Fish and Icebreaker at least but likely plenty of other people.

As I understand it, there is no central seam on the merino wool Buff. I'll confirm that once our test sample arrives.
I've seen no seam... Bloody hefty price tag, though, it seems a bit gimmicky to me.
Ah but stuff it over your head in a bivvy and it earns its way - excellent bit of kit...
better than the £3 off a stall hat/balaclava?
 or 21 outdoors jackets?
I usually find 3 jackets is the most I can wear at one time. 21 is really going some!
21? how dare you!!! why would anyone have such a paucity of jacket choice? (and i still can't find out the vinegar/fruit ratio for making fruit chutney/pickle)

That's disgusting. You've always come across as a man with a social conscience, Parky. Don't you realise there are potatoes out there right this minute without any jackets at all? Or do you just not care?
i don't like potatoes so i don't care. canker to the lot of them. but you have made me consider my social conscience sean. i shall have to have a rummage and sell some.
to get the number down to 21?
or thereabouts...in a discworld type approximation
Hey I just got mine -- -no seam, no worries. What's wild is that it's easily 30" long! Get two and you could use them as tights at night.
 Excellent idea Hebairt!
For 42 quid you could just buy some icebreaker tights and wear them on yer head
 some sense at last...

I saw the Merino Wool Buff in REI yesterday. There are no seems. Price $27 roughly equates to 17 quid. Doesn't particularly seem stretchy in the hands, I checked Buff's website claims to be stretchy. My existing Buffs are very much stretchy. Also made me look around at current Buffs in general and I see they have added anti-pong to their general line (a treatment called "Polygiene").
