Yeah, what's all this then? Okay, the Meets and Partners section of the forum is here to help you arrange trips with other OUTDOORSmagic members and / or track down walking or climbing partners close to you.
It's similar to the Rides section of the BIKEmagic forum, which has been incredibly successful at getting people together. To help kick things off, we're going to have an inaugural OUTDOORSmagic official site meet - the one that was about to the invented just before foot and mouth kicked off earlier this year - which will have its own thread.
We reckon it'll be dead useful, so give it a go and don't be shy.
Jon - site editor

Jon is this your least-replied to thread? Or have I just spoilt that?
It's with that formal "site editor", thats made people think, oh no... he's not a real person!!! So no-one replied. Well we have now, which has just cocked up my argument. Bugger!

Andrew it wont be the first time either

How about slightly overweight ex marine with quick temper gammy knees and full lobotomy wishes to meet people to go out into the wilds where you are miles and miles from any help and no one can hear your cry for help. (bring own shovel) that sort of thing?
I AM THE SITE EDITOR. I AM IMPORTANT I errrr, oh all right. It wasn't supposed to be a thread more a sort of announcement for people who stumbled into the metaphorical gutter and wondered what it was all about.
Clive, you sound like an ideal walking partner. When are you free (so I can hide).
I never got out of the gutter. Too high for me!

ex marine over weight gammy knee but at least he will have one thing that keeps him alive and maybe you to discipline.......... .....ex forces.

Hi Bennie and welcome to the site. It looks as if most people have gorn orf to Wasdale. It was a meet that I wanted to get to too. MRT bash & possibility of some Paramo kit to test (luvli)
I'm on r&r (bleeding DU) so can't get up there and it is a bit of a pain in the butt. Missing out, a quiet websit, little chat, ... it all emphasises the brilliant weekend they nust be having up there,
Ne'er mind though - we'll have reports once they get back & the site should be a bit livelier soon.
What kit do you go for Bennie?
 ...wtf?
The oldest thread (therefore around for a while to know about it) resurrected by someone with the exact-same post as Clive?
Are we being trolled?

Actually we had a great time despite the weather. Saturday, anyway, was one of those days that was perfect, but only in units of about ten minutes at a time. Then you could watch the rain scudding in up the valley towards you, pull up your hood and hide, some great rainbows in the afternoon. Will post a few pictures up on the site later today. Plus some wet weather camping survival tips for Alex and Dave Olney.
Yep, it was a bit damp on saturday afternoon.
I thought the en suite swimming pools that Dave and Alex had were rather nice.
Better than my paddling pool anyway.

I was quite jealous, thought they would have made ideal washing up sites...
Yea well there ya go they were included in the site fee's as well!!
Lets put it this way...I didn't have far to walk to go to the toilet on Saturday morning...

As Mr F Gump says "It happens" It's good that you can take it in your stride & have a laugh about it. Remember to learn summat though.
Int'mountains that dry stream bed looks nice to pitch a tent. Besides that the rain seems miles away, well way up in those mountains over there. The next day dry stream bed is covered by 10 feet of swirling mawky water.
Alex, Simon K had an even shorter journey!
Baga, it wasn't even particularly dry when I pitched the tent, just dark. I never learn!
