Hear, hear!

Saw this amazing film at Kendal, and at Sheffield too.

Brilliantly made, high quality footage, epic adventure, seriously HARD climbing & conditions. Can't believe that it didn't sweep the board at KMFF, Samsara was a good film, but this was much, much better. It did get the People's Choice Award, (which does speak volumes!)

Went to see Leo at his recent lecture at the Works, Sheffield. It gave some some more insight as to just how hard it all was, especially logistics, the team were up against it, even before the expedition began.

The film itself is beautifully made, v.humourous, entertaining, exciting and as a climbing film, highly watchable by a non-climber, ie. it isn't overdone with climbing terms, (my Mrs. has never climbed in her life, but she loved it and now wants to start climbing!) It's a great mix of all the preparation/training (Simo-climbing, wingsuits, Yosemite) & the trip itself.

The characters are likeable and entertaining. A real mixture, they work well as a team & triumph against adversity (which is what it's all about, right). If they just went to Baffin & sprinted up the route, without problems, it would still be a great film, but as Jon said above, you do actually want them to succeed!

It is an excellent film, the soundtack rocks, it's definitely worth buying on DVD. For me, it is right up there with the best.

Put it on your Christmas list, or go and buy it NOW!!!

I interviewed Alastair Lee last week, really interesting couple of hours - apart from anything else, the budget is a lot smaller than you'd think from the quality and scale of the film. Should be up on the site in the next few days.

Excellent, look forward to that Jon.

The cast did a post-film speech/Q&A at Kendal. Al Lee is a charismatic character!

Awesome film, very impressive.

Al's always good to talk to. I was slightly astonished that Twice Upon a Time in Bolivia was only made around five years ago, it's a hell of a journey from that - basically a home movie with some added graphics and special effects - to the likes of On Sight and the Asgard Project.

Hey there Ed

It's simply a "must see", best film I've seen, absolutely brilliant.

Put it on your Christmas list, now!

This is being shown at Boulders climbing wall in Cardiff on Saturday 19th at 7pm - details here on UKC. Unfortunately I'm away that day
