There are few places on earth as captivating and as energising as Vietnam and if you are considering a vacation there then you should definitely make time to visit the former capital city, Ho Chi Minh City.

No holiday to Saigon would be complete without seeing the incredible pagodas throughout the city. Don't forget your camera when touring the Jade Emperor Pagoda. Look up for beautiful pictures of the green tiled roof. The roof of the Quan Am Pagoda is decorated with scenes from traditional plays. Phung Son Pagoda is rich with statues and Phuoc An Hoi Quan Pagoda houses beautiful porcelain fiqures.

Another exciting place is the Ben Thanh Market you can go there and find everything from they sell purses, jewelry, clothing at wholesale prices, fruits, spices, and they have many Vietnamese Cuisine restaurants that sell everything from barbecue chicken to french fries. You can really enjoy yourself and buy gifts for your loved ones. Another thing about this market is that it is open at night and you can sit down under the stars and view the ocean view. Here you will learn about many traditional foods and cultures.

Shopping is always fun while on holiday. The smells of incense, herbs and spices will stay with you long after your holiday. The sounds of live ducks and chicks being sold can't be heard in a supermarket. Handicrafts sold in the Dong Khoi District make beautiful gifts. Only in Ho Chi Minh City can one still find propaganda posters from the sixties.
