Great news! Here's the Walsh brochure.

all we know about is the sole. the rest is a mystery.
But they don't say Inov-8 on the side! They might last longer than socks!
lol. would they be goretex, event or something else lined do you think?

But they don't say Inov-8 on the side! They might last longer than socks! Not many of my socks last 3 years
I'm surprised it has taken them so long, as Inov8 have shown there is a market amongst walkers. It would be good to get some weights though.

I wouldn't be interested in the lined ones Parky so I don't know what the lining is, doubt it's goretex though - and as for lasting, I've just had a pair of Flyrocs replaced that lasted about 10 munros before the forefoot of both shoes completely split from side to side. Crap. My mudclaws, which I think are great btw, are collapsing on one side of the heel and have lost a lot of stability so more crap, and my original mudrocs delaminated - another heap of crap. So as long as Walsh do no worse I'll be delighted to give them a go next year. The shoes look like they'd suit me down to the ground. As for weights .. these things should be weighed after you've been through some puddles and some peat!
Yep, they look interesting, it won't hurt to have another brand worth choosing from.
Great... up to a point. Assuming the last uis anything like PBs I'll have yet more choice in things that don't fit me (not that that's Walsh's fault, but it still doesn't help me!) Pete.

Walsh himself seems to have started taking acid .. see here. (turn your sound up, be patient, then try the 'Sneakers' tab!)

I'll see if I can get some more details on the Walsh shoes.
Jon, see if you can get some of these too! Will they take crampons?

I have some blue suede Walsh casual trainer/shoe things. They have been outstanding in terms of wear.
but could we knock you down
and step in your face and slander your name all over the place but not step on your blue suede shoes

Officially they're not crampon compatible, but I suspect with minor modifications, they will in fact take a C3 crampon without any particular issues
I have used mine with step-ins and there was no issue...until... ...the bouncers threw me out
Actually, those soles look like they've got lots of micro-crampon points built in Nice colour.
I'm getting a pair anyway! Or maybe I'll get these .. Vivo barefoot Aquas
