Feature on BBC Wales Today this evening on mountain safety in the Ogwen Valley. Conditions look incredible - ice climbing going on, loads of snow, people skating on the lake
At present the snow is powdery, and deep in places. There is also a bit of windslab about, so take care. Yesterday the high crags were looking extremely icy. The walk to Dulyn could be a struggle if no one has broken trail yet.
Freezing level has been above the summits for sometime with no new snow - and a similar forecast for the week to come. What hasnt melted has been washed away or is in a sheltered gully. This day last year I was in -16C and 1 foot of snow in Southport and we went to Crosby to see the icebergs round the iron men.
