Its on BBC Scotland at 1900 hours.

Although it was a repeat it was worth seeing for a second time.

Enjoyed that show.

Only two things marred it for me. Jealousy, and sadly  not knowing what that red windproof is that Nick Crane wears all the time. I'm pretty sure it's a Patagonia (thin, dark, rectangular logo down low on left) and looks well worn. I can see he puts on an ME waterproof when it gets wet.

Crane has the ability to turn the most stunning scenery into snoozefest within minutes. I was also apprehensive when he was striding out up scree covered slopes talking to the camera over his shoulder ie not looking where he was going. Worth seeing but I'd rather look at Julia Bradbury ...

Don't worry; you're not alone in the kit-spotting geekdom

Crane's red top has bugged me for a while, too...  Marmot and Pata have both used their logos in self-coloured embroidery near the hem.

I think Nick Crane's faded jacket is actually a specially made ventile cotton one, made by Snowsled. He likes it and a brolly and isn't a fan of waterproof trousers. See here or just google "Nick Crane Ventile". It's nice and long too .. long enough for accessible handwarming pockets below the belt .. all most unfashionable now, but there are very few folk around that have clocked up as many lightweight miles as Nick, so I'm sure his choice is backed by much experience.

Mystery solved. And he would have got away with it if it wasn't for that meddling ALS!

I'd never heard of the company before. Looks like good gear.
