Reminds me of a lady I once went hiking with. She said; "there's so much walking to do here in Buckinghamshire compared to where I come from."
"Where's that?" I enquired.
"Scotland" she said. "There's nowhere to walk there because it's all so hilly."

I was aghast.

My best experience was on Buchaille Etive on a clear day but I would love to go to Skye as I feel it looks like the ultimate on the British Isles.

Great reading these threads. Like most of the comments I have walked all over the UK and abroad. The one thing that I'd like to add is that where ever you go, the UK's terrain and weather is so diverse that there is something for everyone. Who cares if comments are made of best mountains, it a personal choice that counts, and whats ideal for one is not always ideal for others. Rather than speculate, lets get out and enjoy it before we all get too bloody old.

Why all the hassel between TGO and Trail ? We're all out there to enjoy the hills and things like best route are pretty subjective anyway - personally if I had to choose it would be the Mosedale round

Well, we might moan about Trail but their feature seems to have generated a lot of discussion here :-)

Glad to see Mr Dooran a bit un-moved by Bristley Ridge; I agree. I much prefer the other side of the Ogwen valley. But again you often don't see anything and on other times see too many people.

Interested in the comments about Kerry, Spent a week walking in Mayo and Sligo a couple of summers ago - never met a soul once. Mind you walking there tends to involve crossing a lot of barbed wire ...
