I like the Rohan X-Static briefs myself. I've had a couple of pairs for years, and they're still as good as new. I use a pair of Icebreaker boxers in cold weather.

I'll second (or is it third?) the M&S Ultrafit Sport undies.  I've both the 'cycle shorts' and the trunks.  I now wear them in preference to various more expensive walking brands.  I also find them much more comfy than the M&S microskin ones, which I found a bit sweaty in warmer weather.

It is the third Graeme. However I've got both the cycle version and the trunks but the trunks do 'ride' up somewhat! I've got the cycle in normal size for me and they are fine.

If you type 'ultafit' into e-bay  you can find them a little cheaper.

I see that Bob no longer stocks Sub Zero All active shorts, featured in a previous similar discussion here. Mine are still going strong. Found the Paramo grundies a bit baggy and prone to slipping down - not the best - although the design may have been updated since then.

If you want cheap have a look at Sportsdirect - bought  these on impulse while looking for knock-about trainers. Do what is required and good moisture wicking too and at a price that makes them worth the risk.

Or Asda do some called body sculpt that are very similar to some I bought in Walmart that worked great in the humidity of Florida and kept me warm in our recent cold spell.

I'll second the segio taccini ones from sports direct. They're 100% polyester (which for some reason seems to be unusual at that price). They come a bit small but are really stretchy so actually seem to fit ok (tight for first minute or two then not noticeable after that). After trying one pair, I've now gone and purchased a few more. In use I've not noticed them so guess that's as good as I could have hoped for.

Reference the post about sergio taccini in Sports Direct another Sports Direct option are the Karrimor Cycle Shorts (non padded version) for £8.99.  They are long like the M&S Cycle Shorts.  They are made of a thicker material (93% Polyster/7% Elastine) and are I think designed as outwear rather than underwear so are more suited to conditions where you want some underwear that also provides some insulation.

I use the cheapo Aldi running base-layer long boxers - they're fine and pretty cheap.
