So, having finally bought a bottle of Woolite (thanks, Poundland), I decided to wash my new merino layers at last (TehcnicALS and Powderhorn).
40C, machine washable wool cycle. No problems; no shrinkage, no stretch. Hung up on hangers to dry over the radiators.
Then I decided I needed to update my kit databases with details of latest purchases, which includes weighing.
TechnicALS top weighed 239g. But I thought that it seemed a little damp, so left it on the radiator for a couple of hours. Re-measure, now 220g. So, yes, it was a little damp.
So far, nothing unusual. However, I then decided to weigh it again, some time later, when the heating had been off for a while. Now weighs 225g.
So yes, the living, breathing merino is releasing water and absorbing it from the air as it is warmed and allowed to cool...
