Think I’ve posted on here before but seeing as everyone is updating here goes:
Originally from East Yorkshire (yes, the only flat bit in Yorkshire!). Did lots of walking in the North York Moors in my younger days. Now 43 and living in Ayrshire. Very close to Arran and not too far away from Arrochar/Glencoe etc so plenty of great hills close by. Got back into hillwalking about 3 years ago and now working my way through the Munros. Member of a club (see www.craggy.org.uk) - had a club night tonight which is why I am posting so late!
Been on one OM meet at Buttermere this summer. Had a great time and going to Duddon this weekend.
And a Hull City fan for my sins!
Not much changed since then other than now being nearly 50 , going on a few more OM meets , meeting lots of good friends from here, some Blonde Woman who I met on that first meet moving to North Ayrshire , doing a few more Munros, having too many beers in the Clachaig, taking folk on pathless routes in the Highlands , getting my two kids out on the hills. Oh and Hull City got promoted and relegated from the Premier League. Not much happens around here does it... Still working for a living though as an Economic Development Team Leader at North Ayrshire Council.
Edit to add: started a very intermittent blog, must get the enthusiasm to post on it again
In 1992 I left school and starting working in the family business just to earn some money during the summer holidays, this was mearly a temporary thing while I decided what I was going to do with my life. I still haven't decided what I want to do with my life, so I've now been working in the family business for 19 years, we supply & install Windows, Doors & Conservatories ... So if you live in Wales and your interested in ..... Sorry
Originally from Watford, mostly playing football in my younger days. Moved oop north in 1990, and still live in Leyland, Lancs which is very handy for the Lakes.
Spent most of my working life building trucks with Leyland.
Got into walking about 15 years ago, and now get out at least once a week, mainly in the Lakes with occasional excursions into Wales and Scotshire. Used to walk with 3/4 friends but they have all had to stop for various reasons, bits dropping off and ceasing up etc. So mainly solo walking these days.
Approaching 60 now and retired,so time taken up with grandchildren and planning my next route.
Would like to meet other OMers so will try to make one of the meets next year.
