Me and a friend were discussing the difference in Women's harnesses and men's harnesses. I know that the size of waist belt and leg loops is different as women often have bigger thighs and smaller waists, but someone said that they also have different length belay loops to account for different crotch length in men and women. Is this right?
It'll vary between harnesses, I'd guess. The thing to remember is that not only is our notional woman different from a notional man, but she's quite possibly different to the next woman too, so a design for a notional woman might not be right for you.
Try them on, have a friend pick you up by the belay loop, see how it feels compared to an alternative. The main point is that the market now has more options, so you've a better chance of finding what works best for you.
