Hiya,

does anyone use this? Is it any good or am I better off just not bothering?

Thanks

I used some in 1979 when I had stitches in my head.

It did soak up some of the natural oil when I couldn't wash my hair for a week. I don't recall it looking too awful either.

It's not brilliant, doesn't work very well, and the powder types can lead to dandruff. Save your money and just add a little talc (or baby powder) on the greasiest parts of your roots. Same difference.

Or if you have layers, slake a thin layer of gel onto your fingers and riffle them through your roots. It'll give them a light lift away from your greasy scalp.

A ponytail's still the simplest solution though.

Ditto the talc approach- although after a few days your head may be slightly itchy at times, and whenever you scratch there may be clouds of sweet smelling dust

Probably best just not too bother

dry shampoo - yuchh!
If you can, grow your hair, tie it back and wear a fun scarf. No one will know what state your hair is in.
I travelled in very rough conditions (infrequent washing opportunities), for months in Africa and elsewhere. I managed much better than any of the others in the group (including the guys).
Hope this helps and have a good time.
Cathy.

I agree. I couldn't get on with it- just made my head itchy. Best tie it back and up, and wash it when you have the opportunity.

I use normal liquid shampoo on camp sites. Ofcourse I do repack it in smaller Nalgene bottle. When I wild pitch I don't bother or I just stick my head or even whole body in some water or stream, cold though but very refreshing and kicking yourself alive!

Wild camping - rinse in water is fine.

At night get to work with a nit comb.  Gets all the KAK out and is quite therapeutic....

Please, remember not to pollute the water course with soap or shampoo!! Someone else may be relying on it for drinking water.
Cathy.
