Got a spare day (late notice) on Wednesday and wondered if anyone had a suggested walk/hike not too far from Cambridge(shire) - happy to drive a couple of hours to get there, just looking for some help!!
2.5hrs will get you to Edale. Ashbourne in a bit less for a stroll around Dovedale etc. If you can manage without hills Norfolk coast might be nice maybe. Gimme a shout if you want to borrow maps for either. I'm off to the Lakes on Friday 'til Tuesday.
Ha bleedin ha. Can rarely manage without hills though. Nice suggestions though ta, might well do Ashbourne or I might go Chipping Campden for some Cotswold action. Thanks for map offer! Not remotely jealous btw...
Put your foot down and mind the speed cameras on the A14 and you could probably do Edale in just over 2 if you leave early. Time for a scramble up onto Kinder Scout and a bimble around there.

Did Chipping in end, very simple 'climb' to Broadway Tower and then to Broadway (almost too postcard perfect) and back. Good family walk I reckon. Enjoy the Lakes - what part are you off to this time?
Sounds good, not walked there. Been up Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham. Off to Wasdale, so Pillar, Great Gable is the plan. Might be a tad wet but it's warmed up so hopefully ice has mostly gone.
