Hi - I've damaged my waterproof cycle touring jacket (an Endura Venturi, made out of Event material) a little, I'd really rather not have to buy a new one on principle, as its only a year old - where would be the best place to send it for repair? Thanks

How have you damaged it; repairs can be (relatively) DIY?

I've torn off the rubber fastener (where it attaches to the sleeve) that attaches to the velco on the cuff, so there's now no way to fasten the cuff against wind and rain. I still have the fastener, but it needs to be re-attached in some way that's not going to damage the waterproofing of the cuff.
I really like the jacket, as it fits really well and keeps rain out well without me getting too sweaty, but its not ideal at the moment with the loose cuff.

.JPG) your worried about the waterproofing of the cuff - which is only 1/2 an inch from that great big hole in the end of the sleeve? Sew it back on and then seam seal it.

Can't you just stitch it back on.....cuffs are not really 'waterproof' are they - being open to the elements? Or this place is really good.

Well that's the point, I can't close the cuff at the moment, so it lets lots of water in. Also, I think I would wreck the sleeve with my sewing if I try to reattach it...
Okay, checking some past threads (mostly this one: http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/forum/forummessages/mps/dt/4/UTN/27026/), I've got these as possibilities:
Tundra Repairs http://www.tundra-repairs.co.uk (sounds like they're quick, but some people have had a bad experience with their waterproof repairs)
LSR (Lancashire Sports Repairs) http://www.lsr.gb.com/ (good, but possibly a bit pricey and slow, it seems)
Scottish Mountain gear: http://www.imagescotland.com/scottishmountaingear-home.asp
Any more to add or comments on the above for waterproof repairs? Thanks

lsr are excellent. they replaced the knackered main zip on my changabang.
|
 |
take it to your local dry cleaners/ clothing alterations place - get them them do the sewing and then seam seal?
|
 |
I can't vouch for LSR a I didn't send my stuff for repair in the end. However I spoke to them on the phone and they were super helpful and knowledgable.

LSR patched a Haglofs Oz for me and the repair was great. Not invisible, but neat and very well done. Would use them again. Alternatively, talk to Endura, they have a good reputation for warranty repairs, either go direct via their web site or via the shop you bought the jacket from.

 > Any more to add or comments on the above for waterproof repairs? Thanks As others have pointed out, you don't really need the cuff to be waterproof, since it's next to a sodding great hole which, even when cinched down, isn't waterproof. Sew it back in, and, if you must, re-seal the seam. How To Repair Torn Waterproofs
