Just a thought, Alan says that he needs to get the cash together to fund the two summit attempts.
I wouldn't mind chipping in although it wouldn't be much, but if anyone else on the site was interested we could probably help a bit between us. What do people think?
Might get a "supported by the denizens of Outdoors Magic" sticker somewhere on one of his photos

While you are feeling so generous I would like 2 weeks in the Alps this summer please. I will be more than happy to wear a sticker.

I would have thought that Alan's remarks are directed at the potential big commercial sponsors rather than the savings of fellow mountaineers.
If OM was going to raise funds I'd personally rather it was for something a bit more altruistic.

Still wish Alan well though :-)

I'd be happy to make a donation to mountain rescue as well though I wouldn't be able to choose one in particular. (I supppose it could be thought of as an insurance policy.)

I just think it would be great to play a part, however small in Alan's great adventure.

I'd agree with Alison (who I'm pretty sure I saw in the Cairngorm Ski thingy car park last week). Let the companies that benefit from sponsoring him splash the required cash.

Well, Si and I were not actually trying to meet up Matt, if fact I didn't know he'd be there.
Meeting up with you in North Wales was another matter entirely; same campsite, same cafe, same mountain .....

Anyway back to donations, prehaps we could have a toggle on here where you can donate via PayPal or some such means and have a different charity every 1/4 ?? That way donations would be anonymus (sp) and the charity could just declare ex amount was recieved from OM that 1/4 ??

Starting with Ogwen Mountain Rescue ;o)
