I've just posted a new thread about Tarbet bothy:- I can't find much info on this bunkhouse, so has any body been to it of late or knows if it is still open? (I would like to go there towards the end of October) I stayed here about 15 years ago and remember Frank, the chap that runs was pretty old then. On a previous thread Montgomery wick (cannot PM him) said that it also had a shower? It did not when I was there. If you are there Mongomery wick perhaps you could help, thanks

I was going to recommend the Seamans' Mission in Mallaig (showers, cheap rooms, second hand books) - but it's just been announced that they're all closing. I then wandered down here to the library - and there's about to be a review of all library services in the Highlands. One can't help but wonder how many of the shower facilities mentioned by myself and others will still exist in 18 months' time.

Any info on Islay/Jura Montgomery/anyone? Hi Kinley, The last time I was in Craighouse, the Hotel would let you use the lawn by the Hotel to camp on free, and it had showers outside. Might be worth getting in touch with them? Edit.....Just scrolled up/down and saw Mongomery said the same thing.
