Hi all, got a friend at work who is heading down to Cornwall in August. Most people I speak to of Cornwall in the past decade speak of huge, noisy and expensive camp sites with hundreds of kids and caravans.

Does anyone know of any smaller and quieter sites?

Ta, Jamie.

The star inn at pendeen has a camping field with showers in the pub. And if it's still run by the same people as when i stayed there last year the breakfast is well worth booking in for
Edit to say i think thats what the pub was called

I was in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago.  We stayed at a site in Treen, which was fairly quiet, with a number of separate fields.  And moved up the coast after a few days to a site above Polperro, which was pretty basic in terms of facilities, and a simple central field surrounded by caravans, but it was quiet whilst we were there, and only £5 a night.

I only ever ONCE stayed on a campsite in Cornwall... a small and basic one at Zennor... cost me a whole pound coin! Every other place I've planted my tent in the south-west has been somewhere nice and quiet and illegal!

Cheers for the feedback folks!

Don't think they are smelly wild campers like us Paddy!
