I'm a bit stuck in my planning for an HRP trek, and getting back to Lourdes at the end. My plan is to finish at Salardu and then walk/bus back to Vielha, hopefully to get a bus connection back to Lourdes. But I can't find any information about this.

Anyone know about this?

Or alternatively, is there another connection/plan I might/should consider, if Vielha is not an option for connecting back to Lourdes?

I'm doing the Gavarnie-Salrdu section of Joosten's HRP route.

Many thanks!

In Vielha, there is no connection to lourdes.

from there, you can go to barcelona or you take the bus to bossost.

hitchhike via col du portillon to Luchon

Walking to france?

It takes 2 days for going to Sentein (regulair busconnection with St.Girons )

The route is a beauty (via port d'orla, port d'urets, port dera horqueta or portilhon d'albi)

I was there several times (also this year)

Lac de montoliu is beautifull

Thanks!

Can I find the Vielha to Bossost bus timetable on the internet?

And from my research, Bossost to Luchon is only about 20 kms. Is that correct?

Spaniards pay less tax on fuel than the French so there is a consistent amount of traffic of people people going north bored and on their own but with a full tank of fuel. As for the timetable go to this site and put in the day you want to go and it will give you the times. http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train/

For all European train times, use German railways:
