Well i mentioned it to my parents, Kinley. I don't think they designed it though.

Do you have a full service record for this faulty item?
Yeah, they're called hefty medical notes Of course, no normal maintenance contract includes mis-use and negligence. So most of my major injuries aren't covered.

Those aren't the service records - madam - they are the repair records.

Chugging into the service department with bits hanging off and then shouting won't get you anywhere

I'm afraid most of us on here are also getting beyond our 'best before' date. The original design didn't envisage the product going much beyond about 40 years and still being fully functional.

Despite the physical advantages of youth I suspect that there is also such a thing as a "Best After" date. OK - the product may not be quite as robust - but it's much more rounded (and sneakier, more cunning and much more cynical than the naive prototype)

And I spose there's always little pink tablets to make sure you* are still 'fully functional' . That's a generic 'you plural', it's not aimed at any 'you' in particular.

Senna? Well I suppose going through the motions on a regular basis is important. Not sure it's entirely relevant to the thread though

 Have you seen an Osteopath?
Unfortunately, they don't come cheap BUT a good one is much more likely to give you a straight answer.
My local Osteopath is great. I always come out feeling better. I get an honest opinion of what is wrong and what he can do to help, or not. If I thought I could afford it I would have a regular session each week to keep everything in best working order. Even my super sceptical husband finally an osteopath and now thinks it might work!!

Ahem! I know the difference between PPMs and CMs! I have both. Quarterly PPMs and CMs when necessary.

hey guys, would you believe that I'm really, really, really fed up now??? I've had my other big toe fused as I 'ran out'of steroid injections - they wouldn't let me have any more. I'm 5 weeks in and have to have the cast on for another 4 weeks (9 weeks total in cast, I think the consultant knows me too well!). I'm staying sane by planning a trip to Dartmoor with the dogs, staying in a tent at the Plume of Feathers. Small little walks over 2 days, hopefully in March when I can walk without crutches. Until then I get through each day but am absolutely, totally FED UP.

 |
How's the first big toe now?

For goodness sake marns...would you ever give over with the whinging... look on the bright side imagine how a centipede would feel in your place?
> > > > > SWMBO went through 3 years of hell after a fall - she had broken a bone and knackered some ligaments in her wrist. 6 operations and 32 weeks in a cast later...its really not much fun is it.

not great. It's taken a hammering because of having to push off it to walk on crutches. I was OK hill walking because I tend to wear Scarpa Mantas - even did 24hr 3 Peaks in them. I don't get pain driving on that foot now but I've not really done much for the past year, had a week in the Lakes but stuck to the bike. I had to have the other toe done because my knee was bad because of my gait, hopefully if I walk through the big toe now my knee won't be so bad. It's horribly frustrating not being as fit as I was, running is pretty much out of the question forever, I'm not sure I'd recommend the ops to anyone else yet - ask me at the end of the year...

Sorry to hear that, and best wishes.

Thanks for that GOF, you are just like my brother. When I was going into theatre he was texting me and telling me that I was so lucky as some people around the world have to walk for miles just to be seen by a doc. Hope SWMBO got better eventually. xxx
