I paid these people on 1st January for some Montane pants which I haven't received. Several emails remain unanswered. Their site claims they've had postal problems, but I'm receiving goods bought after my Walkhigh order.

I'm going to send a time of the essence letter and sue for the return of my payment if they don't deliver.

Anyone know if they are in trouble  or are still in business? Anyone waiting over three weeks for their stuff?

from their front page:

CUSTOMER SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: UPDATED JAN 6 2011

All new orders are being processed normally and the majority are leaving us same day although there are inevitably some that may take a little longer depending on stock availability. We will get in touch should there be any significant pre-dispatch delay or queries.

Read on! They say:

" As a result of the postal delays we are receiving a very large number of calls requesting the whereabouts of parcels. Our answer-phone system is unable to cope with this high demand so you may receive an answer message box full response if you try to call."

Bit worrying that...

Give 'em a break.... at least their being honest. Your benefiting from a cheaper price I guess well this is the sort of thing you have to put up with once in a while with Internet/mail order!

Or maybe a quote from Braveheart is more appropriate:

After I think 30 days, according to the distance selling regulations, if the goods you have ordered have not arrived you may cancel the order and the company must refund you within a specified time.

I assume you paid by credit card or Visa debit card therefore you should get a refund from them is all else fails,

Thanks for that TF, it sounds fair to me - if firms can't deliver within a month but claim the majority of orders "are leaving us same day" it's time to get your money back.

Walkhigh is not honest.  The message excuse on their website has been there in various forms since September and various people have been waiting on their goods since then (though a minority have received goods after lengthy delays).  Amazon is on to them (as they're a Seller for Amazon) and so are some of their suppliers (i.e. Montane).  I strongly advise people not to order from them and if it's too late then start a CC fund retrievel process now.  I ordered in November and got my money back on 30th December but only because I made their life a living hell - others are still waiting. BTW they don't answer calls or return emails but they are still trading (though they're late with their IR return which is often a sign of possibly being about to go under).  Good luck.

Walkhigh Mountaineering ( walkhigh.co.uk ) is trading completely normally and the problems experienced during the winter of 2010/11 are totally resolved.

As some of you may know, Walkhigh is a family run business with myself at the helm. We experienced a series of devastating family events in the latter part of 2010 and it took a long time to piece back our lives afterwards. During this awful period we were not totally focussed on the business and combined with the delivery difficulties caused by the exceptionally bad winter last year and some unforseen technical problems with new systems meant that although we worked as hard possible at the time, some of our customers still suffered very poor service.

I hope that you understand the reluctantancy to make the full details public, nevertheless as we have been operating normally now for several months it is time to put the record straight and put this behind us.

For anyone affected at the time please accept my sincere apologies. Walkhigh has and always will aim to provide the highest levels of customer service and I hope that you will grant us the opportunity to prove it by serving you sometime soon.
