Mike Don't be hurt - I did preface the 'kind a light hearted' insult with the word 'uncharacteristacally' in due deferrence to the respect that we all have for you persoally and your views. My point was that this was not just a Welsh problem and given how unfashionable Wales has always been with the English - we cannot rest on our haunches - in my own scruffy home town - Rugby we have a law practise dedicated to selling these wind farms to land owners for millions of pounds and of course their fees ( in our case - Brehtertons) I'd wager that every Market town up and down the land is also pushing for this tax supported earner. Mike from somewhere dark and cold- google alan sloman or andy howell and help them cary the coffin in May My deepest respect to you and your views ...Fred Campbell aka Hafner

Monkey Space Pilate nothing sinister about the selection of photos - nothing advertising about it. Last May I set off from the Bristol Channel and did not meet another walker till south of Cader 100 miles north -so maybe your right - no one cares about this wild empty country. Any way - there was no camera crew and creative director just me and my waterproof Oympus crap camera. It pissed down for 2 days whilst I walked from Llandovery to my wild campsite south of Plynlimmon so the images where not Photoshoped - they are just as they came out of the camera. I am tempted to go again this May because:- 1.I gave up smoking after my return and should be able to take in more tops and 2. Could be the last chance ay humanin will have to enjoy the unique wildness of the place. incidentally - I found it a lonely experience - and do not recommend it to people not used to life in 'desolation row'.

No really? You must take me for a mug, the photos are clearly carefully chosen, the good on a lovely sunny day, the bad on a horrible overcast day, then there is your use of heavy handed emotive language "Could be the last chance ay humanin will have to enjoy the unique wildness of the place". There may be some merit to your argument (although I would put the future of the planet ahead of my selfish need), but there is non to the way you are presenting it.

.jpg) If you look at what recently happened with the forest, it wasn't the stupid frothing at the mouth arguments about turning every inch of forests into golf courses, domed leisure parks and retail estates that won the day (so far) it was the reality of the figures, once it came to light that the grants for upkeep of the forests would outweigh the gains from the sales, the government had no choice but to back down. Present a proper argument you may be able to convert me, but when you present such a bad argument and just depend on "advertising techniques" to try and manipulate me I will be sceptical of everything you say.

Your argument does not hold water. Are you seriously trying to say that a UK government decided that long term costs resulting from one of their plans outweighed any short term gain? Please.

I quote from Hafner; .... "no one cares about this wild empty country." Sadly, and alarmingly very true! Or another way of putting it for those townies and the bowler hatted brigade, out of sight, out of mind.... Because its not in the back gardens of those in power, they don't care, but make a lot of noise about caring!
